A Mother’s Heart Rooted in Love Foundation, Inc. was founded by Wannette Smith in loving memory of her only child, Da’Shaun M. Bing — a son who was deeply loved, a blessing to his family, and the light of his mother’s life.
 

Da’Shaun’s life was one of immeasurable value, and although his time on earth was far too short, his impact continues through the mission created in his honor. His passing brought a level of grief only a parent who has experienced the loss of a child can truly understand — a pain filled with heartbreak, unanswered questions, and challenges that extend beyond emotional loss.
 

Through her own journey of grief, Wannette recognized that many parents silently carry the weight of losing a child.

Along with the emotional devastation comes the reality of unexpected financial burdens, difficult decisions, and the feeling of navigating a journey that few truly understand.
 

From that place of heartbreak, purpose was born.

Through financial assistance programs, the foundation helps families with funeral and burial-related expenses based on available resources and individual needs. This support allows families the opportunity to focus on honoring their loved one’s memory and beginning their healing journey.
